  Death has laid its icy hands on Bolanle, the wife of Prof. Doyin Hassan, a former key actor in Mount Zion Drama Ministries She passed away on 9th December, 2020 at 57. Prof. Doyin who has been with his wife for 10 years had met at Mount Zion Drama Ministries where they later took their friendship to the next level. The burial of Evangelist Bolanle Doyin-Hassan is slated for 18th December, 2020 at the Redemption Camp of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, in Ogun State.

ENTERTAINMENT : Ugandan police releases Nigerian singers, Omah Lay, Tems

  Nigerian artists, Omah Lay and Tems have been released by the Ugandan police. Omah Lay and Tems regained their freedom, following a ruling by Okumu Jude Muwone, Chief Magistrate of Makindye. Their release was made public by Bebe Cool, a Uganda singer, on Tuesday. The Ugandan police had arrested both singers over their involvement in an unauthorised concert held on Saturday night in Ddungu Resort in Munyonyo, Kampala City. The pair were thereafter remanded in police custody alongside four Ugandans after they were arraigned before a court.

  Uganda politician, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine has disclosed the real reason Nigerian singer, Omah Lay was arrested. Omah Lay and Tems were arrested and locked in Uganda prison for flouting COVID-19 order. Their arrest has since generated reactions from Nigerian celebrities and the government. However, Bobiwine reacting on his Twitter page, said Omah Lay was not arrested because of COVID-19 rules, but owing to an ‘act of shame by a corrupt regime with double standards.’ The serving Member of Parliament for Kyadondo County East constituency in Wakiso District, in Uganda’s Central Region queried Omah Lay’s arrest, stressing that the singer had police protection during the concert.   Peter of the defunct group, ‘Psquare’, has revealed that singer Omah Lay and Tems who were arrested in Uganda will be on their way to Nigeria soon. DAILY POST had reported that the singer was arrested for flouting COVID-19 protocols while performing on Saturday night at a concert held at Speke Resort. Omah Lay later confirmed that he was arrested by the police in Uganda on Saturday. Okoye in an update about their release via his Twitter account on Tuesday morning, said the duo will be on their way back home soon. According to him, there has been a huge progress to ensure that they are being released. “Good morning guys! Just to inform you all that there’s a huge progress now and @Omah_Lay and #Tems will be on their way back home soon! “Pls let’s all be calm! Thanks,” he wrote.

  Burna Boy, Davido and other Nigerian artistes have called for the release of Omah Lay and Tems. Tems and Omah Lay were arrested in Uganda for flouting COVID-19 order in the country. They were charged to court and detained in Uganda prison till Wednesday. Their arrest has since stirred reactions from the likes of Burna Boy, Davido who asked the Ugandan government to release their colleagues to return to Nigeria. ENTERTAINMENT : Nigerian govt takes action as Uganda detains, charges Omah Lay, Tems to court

  The Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has reacted to the detention of Nigerian singer, Omah Lay and Tems in Ugandan police custody. Recall that Omah Lay alongside his colleague Tems were arrested for flouting COVID-19 rules in Uganda. The Police also charged both artistes to court on Monday and said they would be in custody till Wednesday. Omah Lay had also on his Twitter page said the authorities in Uganda are preventing the Ministry of aviation from securing their release.   Ugandan police have announced that Nigerian musicians, Omah Lay and Ms Tems will remain in the custody of the East African country’s police till Wednesday, December 16. The police made this known via its official Twitter handle on Monday. This was after the Nigerian stars were arraigned at a Kampala court, Uganda’s capital city. The police said it had planned to release the artistes on Monday. The police said they were on charges of Negligently doing acts likely to spread an infectious diseases C/S 171 of the Penal Code Act of the country. “The earlier plans of releasing them on police bond were suspended after their casefile was sanctioned by the Office of the DPP. “They were jointly charged with four other Ugandans.
