Entertainment : Court grants Nollywood actress, Oluwadarasimi Omoseyi N5m bail

  A Federal High Court in Lagos State on Wednesday admitted a Nollywood actress, Oluwadarasimi Omoseyin, charged with alleged tampering and spraying of the redesigned Naira notes to N5 million bail. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) preferred two counts charge against Omoseyin, who was arraigned on Monday, before Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke. The charge bothered on spraying and stepping on the newly designed naira notes. The defendant, 31, was alleged to have tampered with N100,000 new notes, by spraying and stepping on same during an occasion in the Lekki area of Lagos She, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge. In his ruling on Wednesday, Justice Aneke admitted the defendant to bail and one surety in like sum. The court held that the surety must be a public servant, and must have landed property within the court’s jurisdiction. The surety is also to produce three years of tax clearance. Peter Obi can only win presidential election if we come together – Kwankwaso

  The New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso has identified the only step his counterpart from the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi must take to stand a chance of winning the presidential election. Kwankwaso said Obi’s chances of winning the presidential election depends on a merger with him. The NNPP presidential candidate spoke while appearing on Channels Television’s ‘The 2023 Verdict’ Friday evening. According to Kwankwaso: “You see, I can tell you, and I’ve said it here on this chair when we were about to come together, and I said it that the only opportunity they (Labour Party) had was for us to come together.” A few weeks ago, Kwankwaso disclosed why the proposed merger with Obi did not work out. The former Kano State governor said it failed because Obi’s LP was at the peak of a media hype.
